Brantley County Schools Mission Statement
The mission of The Brantley County Schools is to be a first class system in which students are encouraged to pursue excellence to the fullest of their individual ability. We shall empower and inspire each student to be productive adults for our community.
The Brantley County School System offers an array of special services at its school sites. Our Special Education Department serves students who qualify for services in one or more of the following areas: mild intellectual disability, moderate intellectual disability, severe intellectual disability, profound intellectual disability, emotional and behavioral disorder, specific learning disability, hearing impairment (including deafness), other health impairment, visual impairment (including blindness), orthopedic impairment, speech and language impairment, autism, traumatic brain injury, and significant developmental delay. The Individualized Education Planning Team develops and agrees on a plan that defines the special education and related services the student will receive to meet their needs.
Brantley County serves around 370 students with disabilities at the seven schools located in our district. These students are offered a continuum of services which include the general education classroom, resource room, and self-contained classrooms, as well as related vocational instructional programs. These programs and curriculum prepare students. These programs and curriculum prepares the students by giving them some work experience, so they will be ready to transition into the community workforce.
